The best hike in Teide National Park is this little round path, that from Llano de Ucanca goes to La Catedral, then to Roques Blancos, to finish to Roques de Garcia and back. One afternoon I made the trip and once arrived on Roques Blancos, I immediately recognized the spot from lorenzonightscape pano, and started wandering to find something different. I fell in love with this huge pinnacle and, after looking trough photopills, I decided to put it in the middle of my pano. I went back that night. I arrived sweating with two cameras and two tripod to make both the panos. I quickly placed the tripod in both spots, and started shooting very early, going back and forth to both places. Being May, to have the milkyway arch perfectly centered over the shots, I had to wait till 4am. I framed the incredible sky anyway (you never know how the weather goes), then I started the foreground shoots. It was a very long process. The panos were very big (both 9 frames each) and the place very dark (I had to make 4 minutes expo at 3200 ISO). While making the shoots, I had the idea of adding my figure. I tried, and the effect was pretty good. I had to make several attempts, especially for the light paining, but in the end I really like the result, especially the light over the rock and the ground. Also I love how the light paints the side of the pinnacle and how dark the Llano de Ucanca is, down the gorge. • Nikon D850 - Tamron 15/30 •

"Existential Divide" | One path never seems to be enough, but splitting the soul is usually too frightening, as its fragments might never meet again. We crave for a sense of unity and communion, a feeling which only tends to become stronger when facing difficult choices in life... Long exposure photo made in the unique palafite peer in Carrasqueira, Portugal. This is one of the few remaining palafite constructions in the world, used by portuguese fishermen to keep their boats anchored. One photo that I really wanted to make in Teide, was a shoot with the Tajinaste flowers and the milkyway. I scouted a lot trying to find a group of flowers in the right spot to have the mikyway behind them, but they were always in the wrong position. Finally one day a found this place, and I was super happy: It took me three attempts to make the final shoot. The first time I arrived at bluehour, but there was too much wind to be able to frame the flowers still. So I went back again after a night shooting, but I arrived too late during the morning bluehour, and when I was finally ready to shoot , the sky was too lightened up. Finally, “third time's a charm”. I arrived after sunset, whit no wind, and I was able to frame exactly what I had in mind. I shoot the sky very early, to have the milkyway very low and horizontal over the Tajinaste, and I think it works perfectly. I’m always amazed at how colorful the sky is, at Teide national park. • Nikon D850 - Tamron 15/30 •
"Colossus" | Madeira Island, Ribeira da Janela | Against all odds, resisting through the passage of time. Resilience in Nature... This is a fantastic place in Madeira Island, called Ribeira da Janela, where a water course descends from the mountains and ends right here. This has created a unique pebble beach, which is adorned by two gigantic rock formations that persistently resist the strength of the waves. “The Search for Meaning" | Photo made after being 36 hours awake, during a wonderful dawn in Vestrahorn, Iceland.
